Bikini Driving School
How It's Made
It may seem like fun and games, but it's a ton of work.
Consider this: we have four hours to film with the girl....that's it. Four hours. During this period, she has to do a photoshoot on camera, learn to drive and drive the car, give us interviews and then do the bikini car wash. While all this is going on, she has to change outfits. Three times.
Meanwhile, our small crew has to wire her up with mics, add about 9 different camera mounts to the car and to the chase vehicle, set up a mock photo studio and while all this is going on, keep our 5 or 6 cameras rolling, with fresh batteries and fresh tapes. At the end of the day, we've shot about 16 hours of video total using a combination of several cameras.
Once we're done with the girl, the crew remains and films additional sequences of extra footage of the car, location and other elements. Nevertheless, we're done filming an entire episode in one day, with some rare cases requiring a second day. What do we do the rest of the week? Monitor/adjust the website, search for new girls, conduct auditions, scout locations, oh yeah...we edit the video. It takes one full day just to import the footage from our camera to our computers!
Here's a few pictures from the Episode 1 as a glimpse into life on set. We've got a pretty good collection of camera equipment and car mounts that we use and these help capture the crazy camera angles. Nothing is scarier than hanging a ,000 camera off the side of a car at 100 mph...except maybe hanging four ,000 cameras off the car!
